In June 2014, Emily and Kevin Edwards embarked on a journey. Following neck surgery in 2009 and two hip replacements in 2013, and on the recommendation of doctors, Kevin chose to quit his job as a network security engineer and apply for disability. Before the application can be submitted, Kevin must not be working for a full year. Rather than seeing the drop in income as a setback, Kevin and Emily decided to make this a year of living simply. During this year, they will only by the supplies and pay the bills they need for food, shelter, and transportation. They will not buy anything new, unless it is an absolute necessity. This blog is the story of our journey of living without the pressure to buy for the sake of buying. What we have is enough.
